Conconully is a town located in Okanogan County, Washington. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 185.

History

Conconully was officially incorporated on November 11, 1908. Conconully was origionally the county seat of Okanogan County. It begin as a gold miners camp. Now it is a dwelling for outlaws and tourists.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²). 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 185 people, 94 households, and 53 families residing in the town. The population density is 324.7/km² (834.3/mi²). There are 192 housing units at an average density of 337.0/km² (865.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 96.22% White, 0.00% African American, 3.24% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.54% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 94 households out of which 13.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.9% are married couples living together, 6.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 42.6% are non-families. 31.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 1.97 and the average family size is 2.43.

In the town the population is spread out with 11.9% under the age of 18, 3.8% from 18 to 24, 21.6% from 25 to 44, 32.4% from 45 to 64, and 30.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 52 years. For every 100 females there are 107.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 103.8 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $23,214, and the median income for a family is $24,750. Males have a median income of $29,167 versus $22,000 for females. The per capita income for the town is $16,168. 18.7% of the population and 17.5% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 21.7% of those under the age of 18 and 0.0% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
