Rock 'n' Roll (John Lennon album)

From Academic Kids

Template:Album infobox Rock 'n' Roll is a 1975 album of 1950s and 1960s-era rock songs covered by John Lennon.

Lennon did it in response to similar efforts by Bryan Ferry and David Bowie. The making of the album was torn by Lennon's personal disintegration and drug use living in Los Angeles, California separated from his wife Yoko Ono and his volatile, unstable partnership with Phil Spector. Its release was also marred by legal complications resulting from Roulette Records head and alleged mafioso Morris Levy suing Lennon. The album was not a success, although "Stand By Me" made it to #20 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

A remastered version with bonus tracks of this album was released by Yoko Ono on November 2 2004.
